Never loose hope and believe in the best: Deepika Chauhan (Bank PO in Dena Bank)

Deepika Chauhan, one of the reader of bankersadda, shared her success story us with. Read on...

Hello everyone,

Name: Deepika Chauhan
Qualification: MCA
Category: General
Final Selection: Bank PO in Dena Bank and Clerk in PNB
Score: PO(interview: 42.80 written:72)
                        Clerk (interview:64.80 written:122)

I want to share my success story to all of you and will be valuable only when anyone can be inspired by me. I was giving IBPS exam from very beginning. I saw very ups and downs till coming this final stage. I was selected in CWEPO1 but not selected in interview then in CWEClerk-I but same not selected in interview. During that I was also selected in RRBs but not get call from any RRBs.

Same story for CWEPO-II, I have cleared written examination and interview. But as interview was not so good then I lost hope but fortunately selected in interview also. But as I said I lost hope so did not check mail of IBPS and unfortunately my chance was forfeited. I became very nervous. You can imagine how harassing that was when I got news that even fourth list of IBPS PO2 is published. I was very sad, very nervous. I was selected in RRBs as well. I couldnt give CWEClerk-II examination.

When I got news that I was selected in IBPS PO-III and CWEClerk-III written examination both, I started my preparation for interview. Bankersadda given a lot of material for interview. The experiences of interview shared by candidates brought more courage to me to face interview. My both interviews were in Agra, interviewer has said me in PO that you will surely be selected but as your category is general then final selection depends on merit. Good luck; and same in clerk that you enjoy the Taj city. You will get bank job for sure. I dont know why they said that but I was very happy.  And at last I was selected in CWEClerk-III and got Punjab National Bank as well as I was selected in CWEPO-III and got Dena bank. My dreams have come true now.

As a tip for the candidates who are preparing for IBPS, I would like to suggest solve more mock papers as I did. This will bring in you positive energy and same would reflect in your examinations also. For general awareness GK Capsules provided by Bankersadda is very helpful.

Good luck and I wish to see you all IBPS aspirants in banks as my fellow colleagues. Never loose hope. Wish you all the very best.

Try not to become a man of success, Rather become a man of value: Raghvendra Singh Patel (Bank PO : Canara Bank)

One of bankersadda's ardent reader Raghvendra Singh Patel has shared his success story with us. Please read on the unedited story -

Hi friends

I am Raghvendra Singh Patel from Jhansi(UP). I had done B.Tech from a govt engineering college BIET,Jhansi in 2013 from Electronics and Communication. In class 8th i have took admission in Saraswati Vidya Mandir where i have learned so many things and they shaped my life in such a way that i get inclined towards service of nation and ultimately understand that if you want to Change the society ,be the first one to change and to change the system you should be a part of it.

My father is a farmer and he always taught me that "Beta imandari se kaam karoge to bhagwan bhi tumhari sunega' so i worked hard in 12th class and simultaneously secured 3067 rank in UPSEE and got BIET jhansi a college of UP govt.

I had never think to get placement in Private companies because private companies do not attracts me and are not able to fulfill my dreams. I read in Gita that "Karmandye vadhikarsate ma faleshu kadachnam" and i have work hard never to get concern about result. My goal is to become an civil servant but due to family condition i have come to Delhi for preparation of IES and GATE.

When i filled the form of IBPS PO i am not sure about selection but my friend told me about bankersadda.com and i had started reading Bankersadda.com daily  which help me to understand Banking and economics and helps to crack IBPS PO exam in my first attempt. When I got 71 marks in written, i was disappointed but my friend Shubham Tripathi encourage me too much and we both decided to prepare for
interview and we choose Career Power for interview preparation and the guidance provided by carrier power's Mr Harish kher is ultimate which help me too much. You will be amazed to know that the questions
asked in my interview are similar to the one asked in my mock interview. In interview all the question are from different fields but most of them are from geography and current affairs and finally after waiting for long time i am provisionally allotted CANARA Bank as Probationary Officer.

At last i want to say that you Should believe in yourself and your teachers and the mighty god who helps each of us to achieve destiny.

Dear readers,

My Dream was to get into nationalised bank as manager, I had given RBI Asst, RBI Gr.B, SEBI, RRB PO, because of aptitude by 2-3 marks I was getting away from success. I knew Failure is the first step of Success. As soon as IBPS Notification hit I introspect myself ,and started working on my weakness i.e. aptitude. I was studying in Symbiosis Library in Pune. i had done great Hardwork. i was going in the library early in the morning 6.30am  remembering nirankar/god  and
solving PO practice set then its evaluation. Apart from paper I was solving 10 DI daily I was weak at numbers hence I started spending much time on numbers. After lunch I was feeling sleepy so we had a group we were reading GA, Computers. (Bankers addas Capsule, banking terms) from 4pm English, I was regularly reading Business Standard which help me a lot.

Success Journey:

I have completed my MBA in International Business. I got realised, I get peace from within while serving people & those who have Passion as profession  they are Happiest people in the world. I should work in service industry in which Bank is good option has plenty of opportunities at managerial level .I had faith on my abilities, hence whenever I was speaking it was never negative. I recall  lines of our Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Ji,Sapne Wo Nahi Jo Nind Mai Dekhe Jate Hai,Sapne Wo Hote Hai Jis se Nind Nahi Aati.As per these lines,we were really doing calculations in the sleep we were staying on Room in Pune when we were getting up in the morning my room-meats saying you were calculating in sleep ,you were saying Prime Minister Manmohan Singhs Visit to china . Really friends TO GET SOMETHING ONE HAS TO BE MAD.On 28th of November I was travelling by train in general boogie to Pune, while travelling I got news I got selected as PO, I started crying I was aware that how I struggled. It was written exam result but I was confident on my sincere efforts, and my qualification, communication skill, etc and hence it was my final result with the blessings of nirankar I had sweets I distributed it. Formally i had given interview on 5th Jan,14,Bank of Maharashtra ,Pune.my interview was good,at the end of the interview sir from panel said Pramod your Handwriting is very good .it was an indications for me that I will get the post PO and I was deserving for it.

I attribute my success to my Parents,Almighty Nirankar, Friends.through out this PO journey Bhaag Milkha Bhaag movie played an Inspirational role in my success. I was starting my day by watching training session of Milkha Singh From the movie and it is also on friends phone because I had simple phone 1110i nokia, now I will purchase Samsung note. And my special thanks to Bankers Adda I am daily, hourly reader of yours ,you have given us precious guidance and GK Capsule that was priceless.

Questions Asked in the interview:
Why 1st preference ECGC,work of ECGC,How RBI Came to know about FOREX Reserve,Documents involved in international Trade, currency of any five countries,What is Current a/c Deficit, your positive, negative points,Nostro-Vostro A/c,etc.

Suggestions to Bank Aspirants:

Understand your qualities. Solve practice sets daily, evaluate it.Never get demoralised. Give your sincere efforts and plan for today your tomorrow will be bright.

Kal EK Naya Savera Aayega: Inspiring Poem by Rahul Agrawal

One of our ardent reader, Rahul Agrawal has sent us inspiring poem. Please read on his mail, which he sent to us -

Dear friends,

My name is Rahul Agrawal from Alwar (Rajasthan). I am B.Tech. Graduate in 2011 & working with HDFC bank in delhi. I am also preparing for PSU banks but still in queue of strugglers. I am very much thank full to bankers adda for providing valuable information regarding banking examinations. Today, I just want to share a poem with all bankeradda members.

Hope you will like it--

IBPS PO-3 me select na hone k bad jo Ahsas mujhe hua, kuch is tarah tha---

Aasman me dhalte hue suraj ne mujhe dara diya!
Aisa laga jaise jindagi ne mujhe fir se hara diya!!

Mere sapne tut gaye or ashao par pani fir gaya!
Aur main  mayusi ke ghane badalo me ghir gaya!!

Aankho me aanshu or dil me dard liye main chup sa baitha tha!
Tabhi ek awaj ne mujhe jhakjhora, dekha idhar-udhar,magar koi na tha!
Usne fir mujhe pukara, tab samajh aaya awaj mere dil ki thi, jise shayad main bhul hi gaya tha!!

kaha usne-

So, I am ready for next battle with full of confidence!!

Thanks!!

Always believe in yourself and never give-up: Vandana Upadhyay (Bank PO in Indian Overseas Bank)

One of the ardent reader of Vandana Upadhyay shares her success story with us. Read on...

Dear  friends, I am Vandana  Upadhyay. I am very happy to share that I got allotted INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK as PROBATIONARY OFFICER. I owe my success to God, my Parents, family and friends, my teachers (especially Mr.Ravi Soni Sir,Interview Mentor at  BankPower) and all those who were there to support and motivate me during my difficult time.
I am sharing my experience just thinking that it may help to those who are preparing for the Bank Exams.
Success never comes easily and hardwork never goes waste.
Selections:
IBPS I  :- IBPS PO 2011,IBPS CLERK 2011, IBPS RRB 2011, IBPS SO 2011,
IBPS II :-IBPS PO 2012, IBPS CLERK 2012, UNION BANK CRE 2012
Finally selected as PO in IOB.

I have done B.TECH and MBA(HR and FINANCE). It was my dream to work in Public Sector Bank as it compliments my qualification and provides growth and stability. So after completion of my MBA in 2011 I
decided to prepare for Banks and joined BANKPOWER for about 4-5 months only as my nearest center got shifted to some other place but I was regularly following their website for different updates and practicing their study material.

In 2011, I got cleared all the banks written exams but did not receive any interview call from any bank as only few candidates were called for the interview  from all the 19 banks. In 2012 I got selected in UNION BANK as CRE and posted in Varanasi  but could not join due to some personal reasons.

In IBPS PO II(2012),my written score was quite good(168) but unfortunately did not make it to the  final merit list. I still dont know the reason behind this failure. I totally shattered and decided not to give any further exam. But my parents motivated me to give one more shot. My father said to me that never give-up and always believe in yourself and study so hard that you will never have any guilt feeling like thodi mehnat aur kar lete to ho jata ya  ek bar aur try krte to ho jata.
One of my friends forwarded me a quotation which I want to share with you:

Doosaron ki apeksha yadi aapko safalta der se mile to nirash nahi hona chahiye,
Kyuki makan banne se jyada samay mahal banne me lagta hai.

Now I decided to give my best till the time I am eligible and will never give-up.
I gave IBPS PO III (2013) with full enthusiasm and  thanks to all those who supported and motivated me to accomplish my dream of becoming a BANKER (PO in IOB).

My strategy:
Always believe in yourself and never give-up, who knows that the next selection is yours.
Not important to do classroom coaching for a long time but very important to have the proper guidance and your hardwork.
Try to find out your weaker section and focus to improve that. I was good in other sections but weak in GA so I more focused on GA. Thankful to BANKERSADDA for providing daily GA updates and also providing monthly as well as pdf files for individual exams.
The interview guidance provided in BANKPOWER is very helpful.
During exam stay calm and confident and attempt only those questions you are sure about. Manage the sectional time by practicing more and more model test papers.
Just remember one thing that if the exam is tough then it is tough for everybody and not designed especially for you.:)
So just believe in yourself and give your best.
Always believe in GOD. He is always there with you and if there is any delay, it is just because he is planning something great for you.

If my experience and words can help you in any way, then the motive of sharing it will be achieved.

Thank you so much .

All the best!!!

Work hard in silence, let success make the noise: Shubham Tripathi (BANK PO IN ALLAHABAD BANK)

One of the ardent reader of bankersadda, Shubham Tripathi shares his success story with us. Read on...

Hi folks,

I'am Shubham Tripathi from Allahabad, passed B.Tech in 2013 from a govt. college of UP in Jhansi from Electronics & Communication. I completed my 12th in 2008 from allahabad and from then on wards i
continuously tried to get into Armed forces . I cleared exam of NDA in 2008 and 2009 but gets stuck in medical for first time and in SSB next time. After that i secured AIR-2945 to get a good govt. college of UP,
BIET,Jhansi but i continued to live my passion to go into Army. The dress of army and its living style always attracts me . So cleared UES selection from my college and also AFCAT exam twice in year 2011 and
2012 but every time its the same result, get conference out. Now at final year appeared for campus
placement in TCS,ADOBE,Bajaj Power but never achieved complete victory. Earlier i used to not understand what actually life meant but after sudden demise of my grandfather who was immense support for us emotionally i suddenly started feeling pressure. Though above all i came to Delhi to prepare for GATE & IES but now there is always feeling inside my heart to get job instead of further studies.

IN July i saw the advertisement of IBPS-PO and its eligibility really suits me and also i'm good in aptitude and maths portion from college time only. But the real problem is Banking and Economics portion which is almost NILL to me. Hence somehow i get to know about BANKERSADDA.COM after lot of googling. And now the actual journey started from August only. Initially i was very much confused about what to choose between my Technical classes and practice of non technical. I continue to do 8 hours technical class due to lot of money already involved in that but also started making NEWS NOTES from THE HINDU & BANKERSADDA Daily news . I continue this practice till today and collected 10 month news in my notes. Now slowly and steadily after reading HINDU AND BANKERSADDA.COM i get command in last days of my preparation on GK portion of exam. I follow each and every advice regularly updated on this website and improved myself from it very much.

Finally, the day arrives and i just attempted 113 questions and was almost shattered by my performance because i had planned for at least 140 question from previous year's cutoffs.  But on 27th Nov
status shows me positive result and 10 days later score announced and i got 91 MARKS which is very good score according to difficulty level this year.

Now i started thinking about getting some advice about interview and somehow again while visiting BANKERSADDA.COM i saw that they have interview preparation classes. So i joined their classes at
LAXMINAGAR and i just gets amazed by the quality of interview preparation done by Mr. HARISH sir. He puts so much confidence in us that i was bit relaxed about my interview.

IN interview they only concentrate on my HOBBY viz. BADMINTON . Around 10 questions they ask from badminton which i successfully answer them and you will get excited to know that MR.
HARISH Sir in my mock interview also concentrate on badminton only. So you can estimate the level of experience and wisdom at faculties of CAREER POWER.

After around 80 days of wait i got the result which provisionally allotted me ALLAHABAD BANK after securing 49.20 as final score and so 64 in interview which is also very good score for
interview this year.

I'm really indebted towards BANKERSADDA.COM to enlighten my life and helping me to crack such level of competition in first time without any previous banking expertise. At last i would recommend you all to join it at least for Interview classes because it makes your preparation complete.

THANKYOU BANKERSADDA.com

Ye to safar ki bas shuruwat he: Beautiful and Inspiring Poem

Ye to safar ki bas shuruwat he, manzil pana to abhi baaki he
Char kadam hi bas chala hu, samandar ko langhna to abhi baaki he
Sikha abhi to bas chalna he, udaan meri  abhi baaki he

Ghana andhera , mushkil dagar ,adchane aneak he zindgi me

magar roshni ki umeed to abhi baaki he,
Saiyyam, sacchai aur sadagi ki jeet bhi to abhi baaki he.
Haar kar bhi haara nahi kyo ki hosala jo abhi baaki he.

Gumnaam hu aaj to kya hua, naam banana abhi baaki he
Akela hu aaj to kya hua, dosto ka saath to abhi baaki he
Safar ki to bas shuruwat he, manzil tak pahuchna abhi baaki he
Naam suraj ka suna he bas, usasa chamakna to abhi baaki he.

Kal kuch na kiya ho to kya hua, aane wala kal to abhi baaki he
Paa lunga mukam jo socha he, aashaye-umeed to abhi baaki he
Sikha abhi to bas chalna he, udaan meri abhi baaki he
Dar nahi lagta kissi se kyo ki duniya me pyar (bankers adda ) abhi baaki he....
abhi to meri puri zindgi baaki he

Hum laaye hain toofaan se kashti nikaal ke: Anubhav Jain (Bank PO in Bank of Baroda)

Anubhav Jain, one of the bankersadda reader, has shared his success story with us. Please find below the unedited story -

Hi Team BA and My fellow readers,

My name is Anubhav Jain. I completed B.Tech (ECE) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi in June 2012.

Due to some circumstances, I could not get any placement from the campus. So, I decided to try my hand at off-campus Placement Institutions like eLitmus. Took the pH test and scored 97.21 percentile in the first attempt. Everyone was optimistic about my getting a job through that exam. Now companies approached, I got calls for interviews, but in those days, I was not in a position to go outside Delhi as it was not long since my father had undergone a major heart surgery. So, I decided to take up a job at HCL BPO in June 2012. I got selected in a British Technical Support Process and continued to work there till March 2013.

It was during my job at HCL BPO that one of my batchmates suggested I should try for SBI Clerk as its registration was open during that time. But, like every other technical graduate, I was optimistic about getting a job in IT Industry and would not even register for any Clerical job. A few weeks later, another friend suggested I should register for IBPS Clerk2 as its registrations were open at that time. I feared they might ask Commerce/Economics related questions in Banking Exam. She informed me about the syllabus and the procedure. The pay Scale for Bank clerk is also better than what I was getting in HCL BPO after spending 4 hrs in the Cab(2 hrs each side) and toiling for 10 hrs in the office, and that too in day-night shiifts (1:30pm-11:30pm, 3:30pm-1:30am, 4:30pm-2:30am were my usual shift timings).

Hence, I decided to prepare for IBPS Clerk2. Ordered a couple of books from flipkart and prepared from IBPS PO Books and cleared the Exam as well as the interview with flying colours (I later came to know I stood 2nd in Delhi in that Exam) and got Posting in PNB, Dilshad Garden branch, not more than 500m from my home. I was on cloud 9! Once I started working there, I started enjoying my job. Soon, IBPS PO3 notification was out and I registered.

This time, I decided to gear myself up as I had learnt that Selection as a PO is way more difficult that selection as a Clerk. So, I took admission in Bank Power Laxmi Nagar Center and started taking classes on weekends(one class on Saturday after work and 3 classes on Sunday). Thus, I prepared for IBPS PO3 CWE and was delighted to know that I have cleared the Online Exam in the very 1st attempt with a good score of 94 marks. I thank the faculty of Bank Power Laxmi Nagar who guided me throughout the program and helped me achieve this feat. I again approached Bank Power Laxmi Nagar for preparation for IBPS PO Interview. There I enjoyed the Excellent guidance of Mr. Ravi Soni Sir, who helped us groom ourselves for the IBPS PO Interview and today, I feel immense pleasure to announce that I cleared the IBPS PO3 interview with 71 marks, bringing my Aggregate marks to 51.80.

At last, I would just like to say,- "Your destiny is what you make of it! Never blame anyone for your failures, but do thank them who helped you in your path to Glory!"

All the best!!!

Quitter Never Win And Winners Never Quit: Ajeet Kumar Singh (Bank Clerk: Bank Of Baroda)

One of our ardent reader, Ajeet Kumar Singh has shared his success story with us. Please read on the un-edited story -

Hello  friends I want to tell one thing to my friends who are preparing for exams.

LIFE IS RISK AND RISK IS LIFE

Before start sharing ups and down of my preparation for Banking. I would
like to say.BANKERS ADDA is  OXYZEN  for all banking aspirants.

For  me its like a GOD  because when I told about its website I left all magazines and  study materials of market.  I gained everything and also suggested my friends to visit site and take help I love you bankers adda and whole team Bankers adda uploaded Hindi GK capsule which helped me and my friends to
understand economical terms easily.

Friends I completed my BBA in 2010 and MBA in 2012. I had  a hope that I will get Red Carpet welcome by MNCs  and other Industies , but it was myth. The story was totally differnent . I was unable to get singal interview from any reported organisation . There was no placement  in my college so I was wandering here and there to get an Interview by good organisations .

My father wanted to make  me engineer but I  wanted to do BBA and then MBA so I could not tell him that I am not getting  job. He always used to say me you had to do engineering. I was not getting  job but I was happy with selection because That was my selection .

So I started to do job because it was compulsion for me , for my bread and butter , I wanted to go for preparation from last year of MBA  but I dont wanted to sail in two boats. I did job for one year but I was not satisfied with  that, my biggest problem was my financial problem which was hindering me . suddenly my sister got govt. job and my road was clear for preparation  . I left the job and decided that I will give only     two years for my prepartion.

I made plan before starting prepartion like  statewise cut off, eligibilitties . My targert was BANK CLERK  . in one year I gave approx 7 exam including IBPS RRB PO and SPECILIST OFFICER  but I could not succeed but that was GALA DAY  when I got 91 marks in IBPS CLERK form Gujrat and
cutoff was 66 and faced interview which was good I got 55  marks and my final score 47.40  and got  BANK OF BARODA  by the grace of god.

Thanks to everyone, god , my friends, sister my parents my coaching teachers specialy Bankers Adda, Carreer Power.

Last me     ;
Na puch meri manjil kahan hai ,
abhi toh manjil ka irada kiya hai
Hosla na harenge umra bhar
kisi or se nahi hamne khudse ye vada kiya hai,

Believe in yourself and be true to yourself: Nibedita Sinha (Bank Clerk in Syndicate Bank)

One of Bankers Adda's ardent reader Nibedita Sinha shared her success story with us. Please find below the unedited story -

The moolmantra to all success is: believe in yourself and be true to yourself
Hi friends, I choose to write here because such success stories of others inspired me, hope my one does the same to at least one.

I completed my masters and found no good job and my parents suggested I go for govt jobs. My friend Ira Sharma opened the door of ibps to me because before that I was not interested in one such. I joined a coaching centre near my house in july 2012. Within 5 months first came ibps clerk 2 and I qualified throught out . I was very much excited but due to low score I was not offered a job. But this failure lured me for the success. I determined that In the next exam I will definitely get the job. My teachers, parents, and friends supported me throughout. They always praised my self belief. In the following year I gave sbi po, lic aao, ibps po. I missed all of them for a few marks. But I didn't loose my belief that I will do it. And finally ibps clerk3 gave me the opportunity to taste success in one year.

For all aspirants I will advise go through the basics of all subjects, have them concreted in your mind. Get good books or approach good teachers for them. Practise regularly and throughly..and here comes the second part "be true to yourself" that is you are giving the exams not for any coaching centre or anyone else. You are giving it only for your benefit. Keep to the time. Do not cheat or copy. It will show off in the main exam and ruin your life. Spot your disabilities and work out more on it. Internet is a great source to study. Facebook group sudies helped me a lot. But again be true to yourself. When you study only study.

Lastly I would say no exam is tough. But it is very needed that you should know your capabilities and your aim.
I wish all of you success. Just never say I can't.
Thank you,

Nibedita Sinha

Practice, Practice & Practice: My secret to success (Bharath: Bank PO in Indian Bank)

One of our ardent reader, Bharath, has shared his success story with us. Read on...

Friends,

I'm Bharath from WestGodavari district of AndhraPradesh.! I completed my graduation from Btech in ECE in the year 2012. Since then, I've been  trying for both software and this banking exams at the same time. :p :p (To say frank, I was neither serious for both nor dedicated to achieve some thing). It took almost 8 previous attempts for me to achieve this "short term goal". No sooner I realized the value of life than I started preparing for competitive exams seriously from March 2013 only when I found that my skills for software are good for nothing :(.

My preparation strategy :

Friends, for bank exams, after knowing the basics of each and every concept that is required, I suggest only Practice makes you perfect. Practice , and then Practice and then Practice even more keeping time in mind. Try to complete the paper 15 minutes even before the stipulated time while you practice. The more times you practice, the more you will get to know about your time management for the sections.

I suggest you to read as many success stories as U can before you sincerely start preparing (This really helped me to get some confidence at my initial stages that I too can be a PO). Friends, For bank exams, no coaching is necessary if you completely dedicate yourself to achieve your goal. For General Awareness and Banking Awareness, trust me, You can completely depend on our own "BANKERS ADDA" ! Go through the daily GK Updates and keep updated yourself.

Friends, I've secured 86 marks in written and 67 in interview which make combined score of 47.80 under GENERAL category and got selected in INDIAN BANK(my 2nd option) :)

Don't Apply for exams believing that you cannot crack it. Once you Apply for it don't rest until U crack it. God's Delays are not his Denials. All the best friends.

Failed in 17 Exams before I tasted Success: Ziaur Rahman (Bank PO in Indian Overseas Bank)

Dear readers, please find below a very inspiring success story of Ziaur Rahman, selected as PO in Indian Overseas Bank (as shared by him over email) -

Dear friends,

LAHRO SE DARKAR NAUKA PAR NHI HOTI..
KOSIS KARNE WALON KI KABHI HAAR NHI HOTI....

I am really thankful to God, to give me such willpower, my parents and my friends who always encourage me ..and BANKERSADDA.

I had visited this site in 2012 DEC.  and I never fail to use their GK capsules in any examination. By their capsules I usually secure 75% marks in GK.

LEKIN AIK HI BAAT KAHOONGA.... KI JAB RESULT AAYE AUR SAAMNE SCREEN PAR DIKHE KI AAP SELECT HO GAYE  TAB JO AANSU NIKALTE HAIN.....US WAQT KA KYA KEHNA" I REALLY ENJOYED IT.

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: Vikhyat Hindoliya (Bank PO in Bank of Baroda)

One of our reader, Vikhyat Hindoliya has shared his success story with us. Please the unedited story below -

Dear Friends I am Vikhyat Hindoliya. I am very happy to share that I got allotted as PO & Clerk in Bank of Baroda which is my first preference in both cadres. I owe my success to my Parents, family & Friends those keep motivating me during my difficult time.  Now I want to share my preparation strategy and a few tips to all readers of Bankersadda. I hope it will help all the Banking aspirants. Have a nice day.

Name:  Vikhyat Hindoliya
Education:  B.Pharmacy, MBA (Financial Administration)

About Myself:
First of all I would like to clear that Banking is not my first choice for job. I opted Biology because wanted to became a Doctor but unfortunately unable to clear Pre Medical Test exam. That was a huge setback for me and I had left with no alternative left so choose B.Pharmacy for my graduation because I want to stick to my science stream but in due course of time I realize that there is very limited scope of growth in this field. So after completing my graduation in 2011 I choose MBA instead of M Pharma and got admission in IMS DAVV Indore for my MBA course and it was the turning point of my life because during my MBA I got exposure to competitive environment and generated interest for Banking Industry.

My Study Plan

General Awareness:
I have interest in Current affairs because of newspaper reading habit developed during my college days which helped to crack this section easly. I used to update current affairs with online newspaper and the current affairs uploaded on  Bankersadda especially GK Capsule which was very compact, systematic and covered whole GK of last 6 months. Reading newspaper helps us to improve our vocabulary too.

Banking Awareness:
Very important section ,score well by reading good business newspapers like business Standards, Economic Times, The Hindu business page & Business Line.

Computer Knowledge:
To be frank I have not prepared anything more than MCQS available on websites. As most of the questions are from basics, so working knowledge in computer is sufficient to answer. Its a very scoring section that too in very short span of time so practice as many as questions you can.

English
Everyone is good in spoken English. But it wont work out in Competitive exams. In exams they will test our ability how much proficiency we have in English by Comprehension, Error spotting, Cloze test, re arrangement of sentences. One thing to remember there is no shortcut for this section the only way by which you can excel is practice. Start to solve with the previous test papers in a given time frame. And improve your compression skills by practicing previous year papers. My one suggestion is dont come to English section at the last as your mind wont allow to sit in reading comprehension because of tiredness.

Reasoning:
A time consuming section for beginners. And practice makes you perfect to do well in this section. Various kind of questions were asked like sitting arrangements, Input output, Directions, Mathematical Operations, Syllogisms, etc . It depends on the approach how you choose the questions within a time frame to solve. I have seen that many aspirants waste their most of time in solving a single question which cost them in their results. Remember that nothing personal in banking exam if you cant solve it leave it. If you are not good in this section than dont waste your precious time just do to clear sectional cutoff and allot this time to other sections.

Aptitude Test:
A very important section from scoring point of view. If you are good in calculations than this section is for you but this time in IBPS PO questions asked were very time consuming so choosing right question to answer is also a skill which you learn by practice. More important I allot more time for this section only and comes at last. Many videos for shortcuts are available on you tube. Please watch and try to apply those in the practice papers.

Fine, Here my time allocation: For IBPS PO 3

  • Computer proficiency: 10 Mins
  • General awareness and Banking knowledge: 15 mins
  • English:  25 Mins
  • Reasoning: 30 Mins
  • Aptitude - Minimum 40 Mins

Time allocation is very mandatory and should follow strictly in each section.

LIST OF EXAMS I HAVE APPEARED

  • IBPS PO 1(written not qualified by 1 mark)
  • IBPS PO 2 (written not qualified by 1 mark)
  • SSC CGL 2012 Not Qualified
  • RBI Assistant 2012 Not Qualified
  • RRB PO & Clerk 1 Qualified both but no interview call due to low scores
  • SBI PO 2013 Not Qualified
  • FCI 2013 T1+T2 Qualified CPT not cleared
  • MPPSC 2012 Pre Qualified waiting for mains result
  • SSC MTS 2013 Qualified
  • SSC CPO 2013 Cleared T1 doesnt attend physical
  • SSC CGL 2013 T1 Qualified waiting for T2 result
  • SSC Prasar Bharti 2013 T1+T2 Qualified waiting for interview
  • SSC CHSL 2013 Qualified waiting for CPT
  • UGC NET 2013 (June) Qualified
  • RRB PO & Clerk 2 Qualified both
  • IBPS PO 3 Qualified
  • Written 76 Final score 45.50 Allotted Bank of Baroda
  • IBPS Clerk 3 Qualified
  • Written 111 Final Score 59.60 Allotted Bank of Baroda (M.P. state)

Now having 2 offers in hand and few final interviews & CPT are pending. Those pains faced in the society being jobless will fly as soon as getting into job. Remember Success is not final, failure is not fatal. At last I would like to quote from poem by Former PM A.B. Vajpayee Ji which keep inspiring me

Kya haar me kya jeet mein,
 kinchit nahin bhaybhit main,
Sangharsh path par job hi mile,
Yeh bhi sahi who bhi sahi.

"First of all i would like to thank to god, my family, friends and bank power team for their support, when i was in need."

I started my journey of banking preparation by quitting my job in September month of 2012 and joined Bank power ( CAREER POWER ) TEST SERIES. It helps me in developing the speed and confidence, by providing environment like real exam. And by then i have appeared in many exam like- IDBI-PO, SBI Associate clerk, IBPS CLERK- 2, SSC, LIC AAO, NICL, IBPS specialist Officer -2,3, IBPS PO -3, IBPS CLERK-3, Indian Overseas Bank PO Program, Bank of Baroda PO program and IBPS RRB.

At some point of time i was totally depressed that what should I do as I am the eldest 1 in my family right now and I gave up evrythng. Bt soon I realized that I must have to move on in my life for my youngers.

I realized that I must opt the area in which I was interested since my childhood, so I moved to prepare for banking exams n cleared RRB PO IBPS CLERK. But score was not so gud in RRB PO to get selection in any bank. IBPS PO score was 78 bt english section was not cleared and last bt not the least I secured 132 marks in IBPS CLERK written exam .

I really worked very hard for this exam as well as for PO. My Parents N family  never expected this much from my side. They always thought me as an average student who is just able to get the next class with first division, nothing else.

Prepare Well and Work Hard: Success Story of Subrata Badhai (Bank PO in Punjab National Bank)

Dear readers, please find below the success story of one of our ardent reader Subrata Badhai as shared by him over email.

Hi all,
I am Subrata, a 2012 passout Btech graduate from odisha. As an IT student my aim was to get a campus placement in my college in a good company. However, that was shattered partially due to recession and
also due to my own negligence towards getting it. sat in 3 campus (INFOSYS, CSC and HEXAWARE) bt failed in technical interview.

Then after completing Btech, went to Hyderabad for doing some technical courses and from there went to Bangalore as any IT graduate would do for getting a job. But even after searching for 6 months, i was unable to pass that interview hurdle. In Between all that, I gave IBPS Specialist officer 2 exam without any preparation and to my astonishment, i cleared all sections only to fail in the over all cut off by 3 marks(score-130). I thought if i try for banking sector, i have a good chance of clearing it.

So, I went to Delhi after that and started preparing for banking exams from august 2013 in a very good institute in delhi.. (BANKPOWER, its name is CAREER POWER now).. The teachers were good but at the same time we have to know our strong and weak sections so that we can prepare accordingly. In my case, my aptitude was weak but i was sure of making up for it as my reasoning, computer and English sections was good. Also one could easily prepare Banking section in class itself. So even though i gave all exams like NICL AO, IB ACIO but my main focus was in IBPS PO only. Also once our classes started reaching towards its end, i started giving online practice exams. Trust me when i say this, this is really helpful. And also i started preparing GA sections from various websites but the most important one was obviously BANKERSADDA team who were providing monthly as well as pdf files for individual exams. Those are more than enough to secure good marks.

I am happy and finally relieved to say this, that i have cleared both IBPS PO (marks-80) in PNB and IBPS clerk (marks 120) also in PNB. I want to thank the BANKERSADDA team for providing those timely updates on all the sections specially GA and my teachers of my institute who cleared most of my flaws and help me secure such marks. I have just one advice for all those who will prepare for such exams in future
that prepare well and hard individually and leave all other worries, you will definitely get through . Thank you
