Success Story of Prabhakaran (Bank PO in Indian Bank)

One of our ardent reader, Prabhakaran has shared his success story with us. Please find below the details story (unedited).

Dear Bankersadda,
Hi,I am Prabhakaran. After  2 years struggle, I got the bank job as a:
1. Indian Bank - Po
2. Indian Bank - Clerk
3. KVB - PO

Qualification:
I am a B.E-Electronics and Communication student from Tamil Nadu. As I passed my college in 2012 I have no idea about how to get job. I search for jobs for 6 months and come to competitive exams as a try.

I started my bank preparations from IBPS CLERICAL 2012.Since I am an Engineering student Mathematics, Computer and Reasoning is OK for me. But English and Gk is a big hurdle to get through.

I got 117/200 in IBPS CLERK 2.Since I am from OBC category I applied in General. Due to this I failed in reasoning by 1 mark. It hurts me a lot and thinks to switch over to some other field. But due to the gap of 8 months all companies questioned about the gap and I was rejected in most of the companies.
Coming to my family background, my father is a Pensioner and my mother is a house wife. After lot of pressure from my family I decided to come back to bank exam preparation.
I asked my father Please give me 1 year time to get a job. He agreed and I start my preparations in Jan 2013.

Even then I had continuous failures in 8 exams (IBPS CLERK 2012, SBI PO 2013, SSC CGL 2013, LIC AAO, NICL ASSISTANT, KVB CLERK)

And Continuous success comes in (IBPS PO 3, IBPS CLERK 3, IBPS RRB 3, KVB PO)

Winners are not those who never fail,But those who never quit. I believe in this only.

My way of studying:
Now I am telling my view to approach competitive exams. First make a mindset that we dont need 200/200 marks. We just need a safe score most probably 60%. I prepare a blue print for every exams by go through the previous year question papers. After that we got an overall idea how to leave the weaker sections in the question paper.

For Quantitative and Reasoning I just practise the notes.

For General Awareness:
1. Read Bankersadda regularly and write the Daily GK update. After one month revise the GK using the Bankersadda monthly capsule.
2. Every competitive exam has 20% Gk in Traditional GK (Headquarters, Heads of Important organisations, Sports Terms likewise. So be thorough in it.
3. Read the capsule given by Bankersadda without fail.

For English:
This is one of the toughest sections I face in bank exams. In my practise tests at the beginning I just take 5/50 in English sections. I overcome it by 3 ways
1. Buy separate Practise set for English or practise the English section in previous PO question papers.
2. Get the hard words from the synonyms, antonyms, comprehension, cloze test.
3. Take a separate note and write the meaning for it.
4. Read Hindu Newspaper.
5. Reading  Hindu  is useful to score  marks in Comprehension, Cloze test, Error correction.

Banking is a contradict field to my Engineering studies. I get threw in bank because of my continuous preparations and continuous attempts. So please dont fear about failures. Learn from Failures. Failures are the stepping stone to success

My Advice:
DONT REVEAL ANYTHING UNTIL U SUCCEEDS
Hide from your friends, relatives and family. Start your preparations. After you got job offer share with everyone
IF WE SUCCEED ALL CHEERS, BUT WE FAILS NO ONE ENCOURAGE

Thanks to Bankersadda!!!
